Space Cakes
By Soilent Green
Space Cakes are also known as “Scooby Snacks” or “Special Treats” to many users looking for non-smoking ways of medicating with Cannabis. Space Cakes are easy to make, safe to transport, and best of all they’re delicious. Many variations exist on this recipe since the term can be applied generically to almost any kind of hand held cake or pastry containing THC. After experimentation with different methods, here is the recipe which I believe to be the best.
Ingredients
60 g Cannabutter
1 10-10.5 Oz package small-sized marshmallows
5 Cups Fruity Pebbles Cereal
Instructions
1. Place the cannabutter into a large saucepan (if possible use glass cookware since Teflon coated cookware has been linked to Cancer) on LOW heat. Make sure to coat the pan with butter on the bottom and sides to prevent sticking and to make clean up easier.
2. Next, you will empty the entire package of marshmallows into the saucepan. Let the marshmallows sit for a minute and stir the marshmallows until they are all melted. You should aim for a whipped cream looking mix of butter and marshmallows. If you were not able to find the smaller sized marshmallows, it is okay just know that you will have to stir up your product more carefully to achieve the desired consistency.
3. Using a buttered spatula, slowly add the Fruity Pebbles in one cup at a time.
4. Once you have mixed in the 5 cups of cereal, immediately place the mix on a cookie sheet while the mix is still warm. Let the mix cool a few minutes so that it is okay to handle without causing discomfort. At that point, you can portion out the mix into baseball sized balls which can be enjoyed once they have cooled or refrigerate in case you would like to store them for later use. They keep good for about 7 days when refrigerated.
Makes about 8 Servings
Important Tips
This recipe is NOT vegetarian, since the gelatin contained in most brands of marshmallows are made from animal products. Vegan Marshmallows can be found online, however, they are somewhat more expensive than conventional marshmallows. Also, it is worth noting that just about any type of cereal can be used in this recipe: hemp seed granola, chocolate Rice Krispies, Fruity Loops, Coco Puffs, etc. its all just a matter of experimentation to see which one you like best.
