Published: 06/30/2011 by Dank Nugs in Medical Marijuana
The battle to make marijuana 100% legal has been going on for many years, and shows no sign of slowing. More and more states are also beginning to follow suit in an attempt to make cannabis fully legal and allow for the government a way to tax ....

What a great article to read! I have kept up with this issue for as long as I have been a MMJ patient. I know that one day all our effort will pay off and finally it will be legal.

More state, less fed

This is a system developed in response to an inability to legalize recreational marijuana. While a great template for future development, the DEA can still sweep in and shut down state-approved dispensaries. It's time our state governments stand up to the federal body and say NO MORE!

true compassion

as a person who watched there grandmother suffer from cancer, i believe it would be amazing if theses so called "co-ops" would actually offer some compassion towards there paitents. in lieu of squeezing there pockets for every last dime they can get out of an ill person. i cannot say all of the MMJ dispensarys are out for gain, but what i have witnessed more often then not is low quality meds for outrageous prices. marijuana is a (miracle) plant that can help all if applied in the correct terms. it is not something that should be criminalized or profited from. in my eyes it is wrong for someone to profit off an ill person. the word compassion means "to suffer together" not to watch one suffer as you gain from it. legalization and actual regulation is much needed for the true paitents out there. hopefully one day it will come.

The review left by "Alex B." really hits home on what both the article touches on, and some of the things that are frequently overlooked in regards to California and Prop 215. There is absolutely the potential threat that dispensary owners are cashing in on the ailments of their patients. Some dispensaries get away with pricing a $40 1/8 value at a $60 1/8. I'm all about quality, and willing to spend the extra twenty bucks if it's worth that much, yet so often that additional investment is worth nothing but an extra chunk of change for the dispensary. If I were to give my money to a dispensary without the exchange of goods or services, I would absolutely want to give it to one of the smaller institutions whose low prices reflect compassionate service and dedication to upholding the accessibility and availability of medical marijuana for those who truly need it. Oftentimes those who need the medication the most are unable to work sustainably and provide the money to pay for it-- isn't this concept about offering affordable and natural medication alternatives to those who find the other pharmaceutical options hold no merit? The notion behind the Compassionate Use Act is just that-- compassionate. Yet this system, like all others, leaves room for abuse.
