Stoner does not mean couch potato!
I am an active MJ smoker and I don't do it to "get high" or even because I am addicted to the substance. I am passionate about the herbal medicine that has been used for thousands of years in almost every culture around the world. Marijuana is the only substance for me that relieves pain, helps my psych, and makes me feel at ease with all the problems that come with life. It has always made me more active and less lazy because it makes my mind more active not just my body. I have always been a slim guy and I cant say from experience that it helps me lose weight or keep the weight off, but it has never made so hungry that I have to eat a lot or all the time. I do get "munchies" but that's not because i'm hungry that's because marijuana makes things smell and taste better. I am very glad that MJ is being studied and researched in a way that it can help everyone in some way and I believe that people should stop frowning upon it and embrace it.

The article title is no joke... lost 50lbs....
Finally this is coming to light! Anyone could have said this to someone several years ago and they would have been considered a joke!
I am an active marijuana consumer and I have a lot of stomach problems. I get nauseas when I wake up and the smell of eggs in the morning almost makes me hurl! I have to smoke in order to eat something. If i don't eat anything in the morning my energy level is so low. And I'm not saying I am getting 'baked' in the morning, but just a hit or two to get my appetite going.
Because what people don't know is if you have your metabolism constantly working then you are constantly digesting your food faster, which doesn't allow a lot of fat cells to just sit around.
Most MJ users I know are what I like to call 'grazers.' We don't feast every time we eat, but eating throughout the day in small amounts will keep that metabolism working and help you keep your weight down!

I believe it is a significant observation that cannabis patients are less obese than non patients. I do think there is more resolve needed here to help guide us to answers for the "still questions". Perhaps some theories expounded from the results that were found would give us more direction. I am curious to know if a study could show if other health issues showed improvements along with the 1/3 less obesity.

A new answer for weight loss
With obesity a major factor in the stress on our own health and health system this is a solution well worth looking into. Excellent article, which has opened the door on this with solid research from multiple sources.
Thanks for posting.
