Federal Medical Marijuana72 year old woman Elvy Musikka has been provided marijuana regularly from the U.S. Government, deriving from 1976 court settlement that created the first legal pot smoker.  Elvy has been provided marijuana by the feds since 1988, or 23 years.

Marijuana ClassificationGovernor Chris Gregoire (Washington) & Governor Lincoln Chafee (Rhode Island) submit a petition to the Drug Enforcement Administration to reclassify marijuana as a Schedule 2 drug.  Currently, as a Schedule 1 drug, marijuana is not able to be prescribed by a doctor because it is considered to not have any medical benefits.  By being a Schedule 2 drug, marijuana will be seen as having medicinal value
