Ganja Butter - Medical Marijuana Recipe

The most convenient way to use and store marijuana for cooking is to make ganja butter, which can be cut into pieces and Ziploc bagged for freezing and later used in cooking of all kinds.
1 lb. of organic butter, cut into chunks
1/2 ounce of marijuana, buzzed until fine in a coffee grinder.
Add the butter to a saucepan. Once the butter has melted, add the marijuana. Simmer for 30-45 minutes stirring every 5 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes then strain the pot butter (using cheesecloth) into a small bowl. Once cool enough to handle, pick up the cheesecloth and squeeze out the juice. Cover and refrigerate until semi-solid.
It will keep six months in the freezer and you can use it just as you would use butter in recipes of all kinds, or enjoy it straight, in small amounts on toast, pancakes, and English muffins. The possibilities are endless!

Double Boiling

I have tried both the frying pan and the crock pot, and while both are effective, I've found that double boiling when cooking ganga keeps the temperature nice and even, and if you keep the water to a simmer, you don't have to worry about cooking out any THC. Also, don't throw away your pot grounds!! They can be added to so much!!

What About Vegans?

While Ganja butter certainly works and works well.... my question is, What about Vegans? As a vegan myself I asked this question some time ago. I found several solutions that work every bit as good as butter and they are all cholesterol free. 1. Olive oil. The slow cooker method works fantastically as does a pressure cooker. I prefer a slowcooker and use only kief. Kief gives the oil a golden hue and a wonderful flavor, it also keeps much longer than anything "green", especially at room temp. 2. Coconut oil. Same as above. Coconut oil is even better in some ways. Coconut is a Super Food full of essential amino acids and yummy cholesterol free fat. Actually, Any kind of oil will work . Hemp seed oil - yummy! 3. Glycerin. You can make a quite effective extract using Glycerin. The extract can then be squirted into/onto anything. Mix it in your coffee. Make hard candy. Put it in soup. Heck, you can even vape it in e cigarettes! There are so many ways to consume Cannabis in a healthful manner, it never ceases to amaze me. Happy extracting everybody!
